Oracle Forecast

Q1. Can Oracle running on any operating system be forecast?

A1. Although technically the method we have developed does not limit the type of Operating system, however due to forecasting data collection tool limitation, this service is only available for Oracle on Unix including Linux.

Q2. Can a system experiencing severe CPU problem be forecast?

A2. Forecasting is not suitable for system whos CPU (%sys+%usr) utilization averages above 75%.

Q3. On the average how long does a typical Oracle Forecasting project takes?

A3. Depending on the duration of meningful data collection, a typical Oracle Forecasting project can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month.

Q4. Can Oracle Memory utilization and capacity also be forecasted?

A4. Yes, we deploy a Forecasting model called Regression Analysis to forecast memory. 

Q5. Can I/O utilization and capacity also be forecasted?

A5. Yes, we use Queuing Theory model to forecast I/O utilization.

Q6. Can a system with I/O bottleneck forecasted?

A6. It is not advisable to forecast system experiencing I/O bottleneck as the result would be unreliable.
